Eastern Europe, Russia, Imperial Period, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A beautiful trio of kovsh and spoons made of gilt silver and cloisonné. The kovsh are an elegant group with long handles and ovoid bodies, one features repousse walls. The enamel is brilliant pastel hues in floral and geometric motifs within rope and twist borders. The largest incudes the plique-a-jour technique along the rim, allowing translucent, colorful light to shine through the sides and edges of the vessel. The base of each kovsh is stamped with assay marks on the base. Please see the extended description for more information. The three spoons are teaspoon sized with lovely cloisonne on the bowls in floral and scrolling patterns. Faint assay marks are stamped on the necks of each, and the twisted handles are capped by cloisonne finials. A wonderful collection! The largest kovsh is stamped with the Cyrillic master assay mark over the year "1893" and the silver purity mark "84." the next kovsh includes the double eagle standard for the city of St Petersburg, and the maker marks in Latin script "MC" and the Kokoshnik mark with a face in profile to the left of "84." The smallest kovsh has the maker mark for the 3rd Artel and the Kokoshnik to the left of "84."

Condition
The smallest spoon's marks are too faint to discern. Marks on the other spoons are faint and nearly indiscernable. Marks on all kovsh are clear and with some softening. Nicks and chips to enamel and cleanable patina on all. Overall good condition.
