**First Time At Auction**
Northern Africa, Morocco, Fez (Fes) Region, ca. 19th century CE. A lovely pottery bowl of an impressive scale presenting thick walls that swell out from a rounded bottom to a broad, flared rim, all sitting upon a ring-form base. Adorned in hues of seafoam green, powder blue, marigold, and black on a white glaze ground, the beautiful vessel is skillfully hand-painted with the image of a 6-petalled flower on the interior basin, filled with abstract floral and geometric motifs and surrounded by phytomorphic designs. The rim is additionally embellished by an undulating pattern. A trio of perforations pierce the circular foot allowing the bowl to be strung with a rope or wire and suspended for display when not in use. Size: 15.6" Diameter x 3.8" H (39.6 cm x 9.7 cm)
