Southeast Asia, southern Indonesia, Timor, Belu Region, ca. late 19th to 20th century CE. An impressive wood fertility figure shown standing with a columnar form and striking eyes delineated in white and sky-blue pigments. The lower part of her body thickens to a post to be secured in the ground, while liberal remains of vermilion pigment adorn her skin. Size: 4.9" W x 34.1" H (12.4 cm x 86.6 cm); 35.6" H (90.4 cm) on included custom stand.
