Western Europe, France, Paris, ca. 19th century CE. A gorgeous wooden, brass, and elephant ivory clarinet made by Darche a Paris. This instrument is in fine condition. The bell and each segment contain the stamped maker's mark. The creamy ivory ferrules and barrel rings contrast beautifully with the honey-colored boxwood. The keys are brass and include a lower thumb rest. Darche was a woodwind and brass instrument maker active between 1830 and 1865 CE. Size: 26" L x 3.5" W (66 cm x 8.9 cm)

Condition
Maker marks are faint and rubbed with one being the most legible on the lower tube. Surface wear to wood, including nicks and chips, but intact. Mineral deposits around brass keys. Disassembles and segments are slightly loose or stiff. Has not been tested for playing functionality.
