Continental Europe, ca. early 19th century CE. A beautiful figure of a dancing woman, skillfully hand-carved from creamy beige whale bone with natural grey and brown striations. The gorgeous figure is shown with both arms raised and extended outwards while her apron and dress blow in the wind, giving the impression she is twirling. Replete with fine detail, the stunning female is dressed in a long-sleeved dress below a corset and an apron. A cruciform necklace hangs just above her prominent cleavage, displayed by the low collar of her V-neck dress. Her elegant visage features a high forehead, generously lidded eyes, a refined nose, and bowed lips, positioned slightly open as though she is singing as she dances. A coiffure consisting of a long braid wrapped into a bun caps her head. Size: 4.5" W x 6" H (11.4 cm x 15.2 cm); 8.25" H (21 cm) on included custom stand.
