Northwestern Europe, Probably England, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. A lovely collection of 13 nickel-silver segments to decorate a horse harness, each comprised of links and horseshoes. The segments have two chains that connect the three horseshoe pendants together. Some of the sections also contain horseheads in profile. The backs of several segments include loops on the verso for securing the ornaments to a harness or riding tack. All is displayed in a vintage wood and glass case with brass latches. This could be a beautiful display piece for an equine enthusiast! Size of most segments: 4" L x 1" W (10.2 cm x 2.5 cm); case: 17.5" L x 11.6" W (44.4 cm x 29.5 cm)
