East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A gorgeously glazed pottery jar of a deep emerald-green hue with appliqued decorations including paisley and floral elements across its exterior. The vessel has a rotund globular form set on three ornate legs which elevates the basin from the floor. Rounded shoulders lead to a modestly sized mouth that is delineated by a gently raised rim and covered with a discoid rim. The jar has a brilliant sheen when presented in the light, with a beautiful silhouette thanks to its raised profile. Size (w/ lid): 8" W x 6.6" H (20.3 cm x 16.8 cm)
