East Asia, China, late Qing Dynasty, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. A sizeable and splendid leaded bronze vessel adorned with enamel cloisonne in vibrant hues of lemon yellow, marigold, cobalt, emerald, sky blue, crimson, lavender, black, and white. Sitting upon a pedestal foot, the fascinating dish presents a bulbous body and inwardly curved lipped rim over a deep basin. The exterior of the fascinating dish features an embossed garden scene of birds and butterflies surrounded by branches of leaves and flowers with a meandering stream below and spiraling clouds above. The background is decorated with an abstract geometric motif. Size: 13" in diameter x 9.25" H (33 cm x 23.5 cm)

Repair and restoration to bird heads. Collection labels and felt pads on base. Chipping and minor losses to cloisonne in some small areas. Expected light abrasions and nicks, commensurate with age. Otherwise, excellent with nice patina.
