The Codex contains an extensively illustrated documentation of Aztec civilization, including a comprehensive record of Aztec daily life, as well as pictorial accounts of Aztec emperors' conquests and tribute paid by the conquered. Volume 1 features a collection of academic papers by the authors and other leading specialists regarding different aspects of the "Codex Mendoza." Next, Volume 2 is comprised of descriptions and discussions of each pictorial page. Size (of slipcase): 5.6" L x 11.6" W x 15" H (14.2 cm x 29.5 cm x 38.1 cm)
Volume 3 contains a complete color facsimile of the "Codex Mendoza," and, most impressively, Volume 4 offers a black and white facsimile of the manuscript with the 16th-century Spanish text transcribed and translated into English. All books are covered in leather and fabric and stored together in a hardcover slipcase enveloped in fabric.
