Western Europe, West Germany, ca. 1960s CE. A fantastic anatomical model of a human eye made by the SOMSO company from a durable plastic polymer trademarked as SOMSO Plast. Each model by SOMSO requires specialized attention to complete, and each is hand painted. This eye is completely functional and disassembles into 6 separate pieces to reveal the inner workings and structures. This model is enlarged about 5 times to show the cross sections of the eyeball, upper half of the sclerotic membrane, choroid membrane, retina with vitreous humor, lens, and lower half the sclerotic membrane. The lower outer half is mounted on a green pedestal. This would be a fabulous teaching tool or decoration for a lab or office. Size: 4.75" W x 7" H (12.1 cm x 17.8 cm)
