North America, United States, Illinois, Chicago, ca. 1940s to 1950s CE. A 10 cent Mills High-top Horseshoe Club slot machine with a pastel yellow and mint color scheme that is perfect for vintage themed interiors! The machine is mounted on a wooden base and has a metal back panel with a keyhole for accessing the coins. The winning combinations are shown as fruit symbols - these machines had the option to also operate as gum vendors, hence the fruit flavors and the bell for the Bell-Fruit Gum company. A curious photograph of a man holding a python snake and turbaned snake handler is set behind glass over the payout tray. The photo, from the clothing, appears to be from the latter half of the 20th century, adding mystery and charm to this machine. Included are paper instructions and handwritten notes about maintenance and use. While it currently does not function, there is potential for repair, and dimes are visible in the window and a nice jangle of coins store inside that is so tantalizing! Size: 16" L x 15" W x 26" H (40.6 cm x 38.1 cm x 66 cm)
