Henk Dekker (also Henricus Nicolaas, Dutch, 1897-1974). Impressionist Seascape, oil on canvas, ca. 1930. A tranquil harbor view along the Dutch coast with four sailboats gliding along calm waters, a wide expanse of open skies above, a sandy shore in the foreground, and a woman standing at the end of the dock to take in the view. The warm golden glow suggests that the scene is taking place at either dawn or dusk. Size: 14.625" W x 11.625" H (37.1 cm x 29.5 cm); 18" W x 15" H (45.7 cm x 38.1 cm) framed

Condition
A couple of minute nicks to painting at left middle of composition. Slight waviness at lower end of canvas. Areas of cracquelure, especially in the sky. Otherwise very good and signed "HENK DEKKER" at lower right. Frame presents a few chips/losses to the finish as shown. Some tears to gallery paper on verso that do not interfere with the painted composition. Wired for suspension. A label on the gallery paper on the verso states: "'Where Framing is an Art' / Tucker's Art Store / 2924 Gratiot Ave / Founded 1895 / PHONE MELROSE 4026"
