Pedro Guerra (also Pedro Guerra Jordan) (Mexican, 1857-1917), silver albumin photograph, ca. 1909 CE. A wonderful photograph of Casa del Gobernador by Pedro Guerra, a pioneer of photography in the Yucatan area of Mexico whose studio was active from the last quarter of the 19th century until 1917 - set in a mat that is features his red studio seal in the lower right corner with "Photografia Guerra Merida Yuc" around an image of a camera. The composition is labeled "Ruinas de Uxmal- Casa del Gobernador " in the negative at the lower left. Condition
Slight bending to overall form of backing, with minor abrasions and staining to photo, and fading to some negative text along lower periphery, otherwise intact and very good. Nice detailing visible across photo.
