Western Europe, Italy, Rococo period, ca. 18th century CE. A beautiful Rococo gilt wood and glass mirror. The wooden frame is carved into an elegant, symmetrical design of scrolls and foliate shapes. Despite the lavish ornamentation, this a compact mirror, perfect for smaller rooms. The wood retains much of the original gilt, which glimmers while also showing nice signs of age. The glass mirror plate is original and held in place with antique iron nails. A very attractive example of whimsical Rococo style! Size: 22" L x 13.5" W (55.9 cm x 34.3 cm)
