Western Europe, England, ca. late 18th to early 19th century CE. A wonderful blunderbuss with a hand-carved wooden stock bearing the initials "J.A.G" engraved on one side 2000of the backstock. The stock features a frontal slot to accommodate a ramrod, a steel flintlock lock plate the right side, and a narrow trigger surrounded by a brass trigger guard. The back periphery of the backstock is lined with a brass plate to increase the comfort of the user. Hallmarks on the brass side plate read, "GB," "Bf," and a crowned "Z," and another crowned "Z" is shown beneath the trigger guard.
