Southeast Asia, Thailand, Sawankhalok (Sawankalok) culture, Sukhothai Period, ca. 15th to 16th century CE. A gorgeous pottery bowl presenting a ring-form foot and thick walls that slant upwards to a flared and lipped rim, all enveloped in a lustrous celadon glaze. The interior basin of the dish has been elegantly adorned with an incised motif of fish and floral decoration surrounding a swirling, starburst-like design. Alternatively, the exterior is embellished by vertical ribs. A fine example from Sawankhalok culture! Size: 12.625" in diameter x 2.5" H (32.1 cm x 6.4 cm)
