Native American, Northwestern United States, Alaska, Yupik & Inuit, Thule / Pre-Contact Period, ca. 12th to 18th century CE. A collection of whale and walrus bone and walrus ivory artifacts and tools from pre-contact Yupik and Inuit peoples. These items are perhaps implements and tools for hunting and fishing. The 2 rings are blow holes for inflating seal skins for whale hunting. The other pieces include toggles or lures and a flattened, polished fragment of ivory. Size of largest piece: 2.6" L x 1" W (6.6 cm x 2.5 cm)
