Near East, Islamic Period, ca. 12th to 14th century CE. A wonderful pottery lamp presenting an orb-shaped body with a narrow neck, flared and folded rim, and an extended, curved spout, all sitting upon a flared foot. A brilliant turquoise glaze envelops the rim, spout, and body of the elegant vessel, while a series of incised rings adorn the foot and base. Vessels like these were the products of multiple glazes and firing sessions. This particular piece has an eye-catching color and has retained its brilliance through the centuries! Size: 4.3" W x 3.8" H (10.9 cm x 9.7 cm)
