**Originally Listed At $500**
Native American, Midwestern to Southern United States, Mississippian, ca. 1100 to 1500 CE (900 to 500 BP). A fabulous collection of 12 stone projectile points made of chert and quartzite in hues of creamy white-beige and black. The points are hand-knapped and flaked to a triangular blade with lower notches creating two shoulders. Some points exhibit characteristics of Harrell types; the two ears at the base have pointed tips. A petite notch is cut into the center of the base as well, giving the Harrell arrowheads a very distinct 3-point shape. Some do not have a pronounced base notch and might be Cahokia types. The petite size of each point is quite impressive. It would have taken immense patience and a gentle hand to knap the ears and blades without shattering the stone. Size of largest point: 0.9" L x .675" W (2.3 cm x 1.7 cm); case: 5.125" L x 0.75" W x 6" H (13 cm x 1.9 cm x 15.2 cm)
Provenance: private Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA collection; ex-Dr. David Harner collection, Springdale, Arkansas, USA, acquired between the 1950s and 1960s
