Native American, Southern United States, Mississippian / Caddo, ca. 900 to 1500 CE. This is a fine collection of 12 miniature hand-knapped stone Harrell, Haskell, and Cahokia type projectile points! The points are similar in size and exhibit triangular blades with notches creating two shoulders. Below the side notches are two ears that are also pointed. A petite notch is cut into the center of the base of several, giving the Harrell and the Cahokia arrowheads a very distinct 3-pointed shape. The points without basal notches are of the Haskell type as they usually exhibit a straight or slightly curved base. The petite size of each is quite impressive. It would have taken immense patience and a gentle hand to knap the ears and blades without shattering the stone. The stones used include creamy white, gray, brown, and beige chert. Size of largest point: 1.125" L x 0.75" W (2.9 cm x 1.9 cm); case: 6.25" L x 5.25" W (15.9 cm x 13.3 cm)
