Near Eastern, Islamic culture, possibly Persian Empire, ca. 11th to 13th century CE. A beautiful bottle formed from translucent moss green glass and presenting a bulbous body, a sloped shoulder, a narrow, conical neck, and a flared rim, all sitting upon a ring-form base. A thick, wavy band of trailing spirals horizontally around the body of the vessel 5 times, nicely complementing its elegant form. Size: 2.2" Diameter x 3" H (5.6 cm x 7.6 cm)

Area of loss to trailing on top-most band. Otherwise, intact and excellent. Pontil mark on underside of base. A pontil scar or mark indicates that a vessel was free-blown, while the absence of such a mark suggests that the work was either mold-blown or that the mark was intentionally smoothed away or wore away over time.
