"Tidal Dream" depicts dream imagery of a figure floating among the natural world, swaying in the air between a solid rock on the ground and the celestial moon above. Part of a artist's diaristic practice, the artwork explores traditional beliefs that view dreams as portals to wisdom, serving as a guide that connects our conscious and unconscious states of being.
About the Artist:
Kunsang Gyatso is a visual artist based in Queens, NY. His work engages with notions of identity in relation to tradition, culture and history. At times dwelling into the personal through lived experiences, memories and dreams, and at others, engaging with the traditional imageries, systems of knowledge and practices, his works seek to negotiate his place in the world, by uncovering lived realities, both inner and outer.
