About the Artist:
Tenzin Dolker, a New Orleans-based photographer, creates visual narratives bridging cultures and exploring identity and resilience. Born in India to Tibetan refugee parents, her unique perspective infuses her work with an understanding of cultural transitions and displacement. Since moving to New Orleans in 2016, Dolker has specialized in street photography and documentary projects. Her work blends inspiration from natural landscapes and urban environments, creating a dynamic interplay between human activity and surroundings. Dolker's notable projects include "Second Liners of New Orleans" and her ongoing series "Tibet's Forgotten Soldier," which capture diverse human experiences and cultural narratives. Her photography has been featured in Harper's Bazaar India and DeCenter Magazine. Through her lens, she offers a perspective spanning continents and cultures, inviting viewers to explore the tapestry of human experience and resilience, while bridging her Tibetan heritage, Indian roots, and American present.
