About the Artist:
Tenzin Norbu, born in Dolpo, Nepal, in 1971, is a traditional Tibetan artist from a 400-year-old lineage of Lamas. Trained by his father in thangka painting and Buddhist art, Norbu later merged traditional techniques with contemporary styles, gaining global recognition after collaborating with French photographer Eric Valli. His work, featured in National Geographic and exhibited internationally, captures Himalayan culture and landscapes. In 2001, he co-founded the Dolpo Local Help Association, providing education for over 300 children. Concerned with preserving Dolpo's heritage, Norbu continues to portray its traditions. Since 2017, he has worked with Tibetan Yoga master Akarpa Rinpoche on a project depicting Tibetan yoga. He lives in Kathmandu, visiting Dolpo annually.
