About the Artist:
MIKI MU, also known as Michela Musera, is an Italian-born illustrator and muralist based in Brooklyn since 2003. Initially working in comic strips and animation, her art has been exhibited across Europe and the U.S. and featured in art publications. She published a picture book, If You Are Happy and You Know It Clap Your Hands, in 2015. Now primarily a muralist, MIKI MU has created work for notable clients like the Brooklyn Children’s Museum and Carnegie Hall. In 2017, she participated in the Sprocket Mural Festival, creating a mural for Pennsylvania’s historic Broad Street Market. She collaborates with NYC nonprofits Thrive Collective, MuralsForGoods, and Groundswell on community murals promoting social issues. In 2022, she founded Bedstuy Walls, a mural festival in Brooklyn's Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood.
