  The Chuba, a warm, ankle-length robe that is bound around the waist by a long sash, originated in the cold climate of Tibet. Its upper portion serves as a large pocket for everything, from money to bowls. The length of our Chuba reaches just below the knee. Please note that the outer sleeve is meant to be worn slightly longer. Our jackets are gender neutral. Please check out other colors to see different fits
  
  The infinite knot, also known as the endless knot, is a line with no beginning or end that radiates both calm and movement. It represents the idea that everything in this world is interconnected and is also symbolic of the Buddha’s infinite compassion.
  
  About the artist:
  In the creation of ABODE OF SNOW, the English translation of ‘Himalaya,’ we tell the stories of its people and its rich culture through the lens of a contemporary outerwear brand. We love the outdoors, and our parents and ancestors come from the enormously powerful Himalayas.
  
  ABODE OF SNOW combines the most important traditions of our Tibetan and Japanese heritages, respectively. Working with a family of artisans in Japan and using ethical, sustainable, and high-quality materials, we are producing designs that are constructed to last.
  
  We support Cure Blindness, the Himalayan Cataract Project. Since 1995, HCP and their partners have performed over 1 Million surgeries to eradicate preventable blindness throughout the developing world.

• Shipping Info

  • Shipping will be calculated based on the specific dimensions and material of each piece. All artwork can also be picked up in person on November 4th at the NowHere Gallery located at 40 Wooster Street in NYC, or from November 5-9th at the Students for a Free Tibet office located at 602 East 14th Street in NYC.
