c. 1400 - 1500 AD. Medieval Islamic. Pair of beautiful openwork bronze vessel, perhaps lamps or candleholders with incised decorative details. The lamps depict repeated horse and rider figures on the body and animal figures around the rim. Metalwork made in Islamic lands were highly sought-after luxury commodities across the Mediterranean and beyond. These objects were particularly desired by European customers as well as by those living under Islamic rule. Excellent condition, beautiful patina.
