Condition
Condition: Very Good
To the unaided eye, this piece appears to be in very good condition. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals normal fluorescence of the artist's pigments. There are two vertical scratches on the surface of the piece that are between three and five inches in length. They are both located about 10 inches from the bottom of the piece and 5 inches from the right-hand side of the piece. There is a very light craquelure starting to appear in the upper center portion of the painting. The piece is framed in an ornate gold frame with a linen liner and a placard inscribed with the title of the piece, the name of the artist, and 'National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum'. The frame is in good condition, showing normal signs of wear. Verso: [sheet taped to backing] Exhibition Notes from the El Paso Museum of Art, El Paso, TX; [tag affixed to backing] National Academy of Western Art.
