- Lot Description
Yuli Sheinis (Russian, b. 1935- ), "Nude #9", oil on canvas, monogrammed "YSR" lower right, verso of canvas additionally signed and with short details on work. Horizontally-aligned painting depicting a view of a young nude woman's back with curled brown hair laying on her side on rippled pink to white bed linens. Framed approximately 19" x 39". Unframed approximately 15.6" x 35.6". Provenance: From the Private Collection of Ann Jacob of Highlands, North Carolina.
Condition
Four small, untreated losses to paint surface near figure’s right armpit; the most significant of which spans 0.25” horizontally. No apparent signs of craquelure. Paint layer stable without signs of lifting. Under black light examination no apparent signs of in-painting.
