Chinese, Ming Dynasty Xuande Period mark (1426-1435). A heavy cast bronze square form open censer raised on four ogee feet and flaring at rim, the opposite sides with quarter round pierced handles. Marked to underside with impressed six character Xuande imperial reign mark. Approximate height 3.5", across handles 7", basin 5" square.
No apparent cracks or repairs. Oxidation to interior especially along wall corners and lower edges. Minor abrasions to bottom of each foot commensurate with general use. Two small but notable dents or impressions to rim, each approximately 3mm long. Scattered black residue to surface.
