Wavecrest (American, founded 1898- ). An opaque glass dresser box hand decorated with pink roses and iridescent purple C scrolls by C.F. Monroe Company of Meriden, Connecticut. Shaped hinged top with gilt metal Rococo style mounts with figural, scrolled, shell and floral motif throughout. Marked on bottom with pink Wavecrest mark. Approximate height 6.25", width 5", depth 4.75". Provenance: Property from the Braselton Estate, Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Box is in overall very good condition. Gilt metal has some oxidation and gilt loss not distracting. Interior silk lining is torn in the top of box and bottom (see image #4 and #7). Painted surface would benefit from cleaning. Slight fading could be associated with dirt residue. No chips, cracks or repairs noted.
