Bill Waugh (English, 20th century). "'The Sixth' Royal Troon", watercolor on paper, signed lower left. Painting depicts a view of the sixth hole on the Royal Troon Golf Course in Scotland, with the green to right with high sloping dune to left blocking the encroaching ocean and beach at left, with mountains to background and structures to right in background along horizon line, with high blue and clouded skies above. Title inscribed lower right. Framed approximately 17.25" x 23.75", sight size approximately 8.5" x 15.625".
Remnants of older hinging tape on all four edges with some residual adhesive on verso. Verso of paper with blue watercolor paint (perhaps an earlier sketch). Work with some irregular edges and darker brown taped border on front with some areas with watercolor over the top of tape indicating that this was deliberately placed on the work by the artist prior to painting. No signs of rips, tears, or holes. Paper in good condition with no signs of foxing. Colors rich and vibrant without signs of fading.
