- Lot Description
Warren Platner (American, 1919-2006) for Knoll, third quarter 20th century. A mid century modern high-back easy lounge chair with matching ottoman, '1725', covered in a blue and yellow striped upholstery with Velcro removable seat cushion on bronze steel wire and basket work frame, with matching circular ottoman also having a velcro removable cushion. Both pieces with clear plastic extrusion ring on bottom of the base for a smooth bottom surface. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height of chair 39.5", width 41.25" (arm to arm), seat depth 20.5", seat height 16.25" (including cushion). Approximate height of ottoman 13", diameter of top 24.25".
Condition
Good overall condition with wear consistent to age and use. Metal is good overall, with minor oxidation to lower base of ottoman only. Fabric is good overall and likely original, with minor slubbing to seat cushion and arms and some typical soiling. Foam of chair is springy and intact, foam of ottoman is a bit lumpy and ripples. No other visible signs of loss or repair.
