Finely painted panoramic view of Ehrenbreitstein Fortress resting on the bank of the Rhine River in Germany, a tall white stone building rising up just left of center and surrounded by shorter buildings of similar architecture, the foreground depicting the wide river full of merchant and passenger boats with a rocky bank exposed lower right, the background with tall hazy mountain range set below a blue sky holding wispy white clouds and two small flying birds. Inscription to verso of canvas, likely by artist "View of Ehrenbreitstein on the Rhine J. Webb". Accompanied with research document provided by Mr. Schon upon sale to Sam Inman. Label to verso of stretcher from Frost & Reed, Ltd, London. Collection label to verso of stretcher for Kurt E. Schon of New Orleans, Louisiana.
