French School, 19th century. Two mated vertically-aligned oil on canvas panel paintings in Louis XVI manner. Comprising "Lady in Garden", oil on canvas, indistinctly monogrammed at upper left, depicting draping floral garland swags at top with scrolled foliates, with palmettes, with unoccupied bird cage of ovoidal form, with gazebo archway decorated with floral swags framing central figural depiction of a fair lady in pink dress with pink hat in a garden clearing, with trees, with logs or wood at her feet, with lower framed vignette or medallion depicting a man and a seated woman, with scrolled foliates and fleurettes at bottom, and "Man in Garden", oil on canvas, indistinctly monogrammed at upper left, depicting draping floral garland swags at top with scrolled foliates, with palmettes, with unoccupied bird cage of rounded rectangular form, with gazebo archway decorated with floral swags framing central figural depiction of an elaborately dressed man in hat with stringed instrument (likely lute) in a garden clearing, with trees, with lower framed vignette or medallion depicting embracing man and woman, with scrolled foliates and fleurettes at bottom.
