Ed Langbein (Italian, 20th century). Collection of two pieces of hand crafted and painted figural ceramic table vases with spoon form opening at top facial portrayal on interior. One vase with red striped exterior, interior with woman with dark hair with eyes closed and crying, downturned mouth. The shorter with horizontal yellow and green undulating lines, spoon form interior with smiling figure with black face and pointed eyebrows. Both marked on bottom with "ED. LANGBEIN-ORIGINAL ITALY". Taller figural vase approximate height 14.75", diameter of bottom 4.25". Shorter figural vase approximate height 12", diameter of bottom 2.8".
Both vases with minor wear to base from light handling and shelf use. Both vases with no signs of cracks. Yellow vases with minor chip on bottom--not visible when situated on surface. Both vases with small scattered pin holes--glazing imperfections. Light scattered craquelure to glaze, particularly on red striped vase. Red vase with raised bump on back with darker elements of red under glaze--likely defect during production. Both with minor dirt and grime--would benefit from professional cleaning. Yellow vase with remnant of white paint on verso, not highly noticeable or distracting. No other signs of damage, loss or repair.
