- Lot Description
Continental, 19th century. Two porcelain figurines; one a seated maiden partially draped putting on socks with two open vessels by her side, possibly for desk implements or flowers; the other a hunter with gun with two open vessels by leg. Both figures with mottled naturalistic painted ground. Maiden figurine marked to the underside "P(?) 3 PYY". Approximate height of maiden figurines 5", base width 3", base depth 2.62". Approximate height of hunter 4.37", base width 3.37", base depth 2.25". Provenance: From the Collection of Mr. Gerald Darby, Owner of Darby Mitchell Antiques of Atlanta, Georgia.
Condition
Both figures in very good condition. The maiden with a glazing imperfection at shoulder. The hunter with glazing imperfections near the base. Both with typical shelf wear to bases. No chips, cracks or repairs noted.
