Tom Wesselmann (1931-2004). "Bedroom Dropout" - 1983, woodcut in colors on wove paper, limited edition 32/50, pencil signed, dated, and numbered lower left margin, publisher's blind stamp lower right margin. An abstracted and color blocked view on an intimate scene with a red haired woman seated, her bulbous breasts to center of composition with her red hair and lips in view above with a teal green pillow at right set before a black wall, the scene focusing on the use of color to create form on a seemingly white ground which is actually the right side of the woman's body. Framed approximately 34.75" x 39.25". Sheet size approximately 24.5" x 29". Provenance: From the Private Collection of Benno & Babette Rothschild, Columbus, Georgia.
Sheet not examined out of frame as it is mounted floating within the frame and all edges can be seen, this done in order to preserve condition. Sheet overall with very light and even toning. No apparent fading as color is even throughout. Each of the four deckled edges with very minor rippling and curling. No apparent pinholes, tears, abrasions, or losses. No apparent foxing or mat burn.
