Louis Comfort Tiffany (American, 1848-1933), circa 1899-1928. A Tiffany Studios bronze floor lamp with favrile shade, the 10 inch favrile shade ribbed and having continuous gold design combed or pulled across the opal surface. The shade contained within a bell-form frame suspended from a goose neck or harp cage, the lamp stem molded as connected lotus buds, the base as a leaf pod having 8 open scrolled edges. The base impressed 'Tiffany Studios, New York, 425" beneath. The fitter engraved "'L.C. Tiffany Favrile". Approximate height 54.25", diameter of base 12".
The fitter on shade is signed. Shade is in very good condition with minor scratches as would be expected with age and handling. There are small inclusions under surface, with no damage or repairs noted. Lamp base has very nice patina. Socket appears to be original to the piece. Old cord has been cut off and wired to newer cord and wrapped in black electrical tape. There is typical surface wear to the base commensurate with age, usage and contact with surface.
