Tiffany & Co. (American (New York), founded 1837), circa 1887. A sterling silver two-piece sweet meat dish created under the directorship of Edward Moore, pattern #9482, the dish of ovular form raised on four shell form feet and having c-scroll shaped handles to two sides adorned with floral decoration in relief, the side walls with field of reticulated acanthus leaves, latticing, c-scrolls, and flower blossoms, the removable liner with acanthus leaf scrolls to short flaring rim. Underside of liner with impressed mark "TIFFANY & Co / 9482 MAKERS 4562 / STERLING-SILVER / 925-1000 / M". Overall approximate height 3", width across handles 9", depth 5.25". Approximate weight 17.4 troy ounces.
Liner with surface scratches, dents, and dings commensurate with age, with minor tarnishing. The stand stable with no apparent warping. Overall with no apparent pitting, losses, monograms, or removals.
