- Lot Description
Tapio Wirkkala (Finnish, 1915-1985), circa 1987. Heavy, clear art glass table vase of organic form with undulating rim above twisting ridged body. Interior of modern Scandinavian vessel with label for modern Finnish design firm, Iittala with white "i" within red circle above "MADE IN FINLAND". Bottom incised "TAPIO WIRKKALA 213/1987". Overall approximate height 7.2", diameter at top 7.9".
Condition
Overall good condition. Two elongated included bubbles close to exterior surface, not exposed. Scattered surface bubbles to exterior. Single included manufacturing flaw, possibly carbon. Underside with scattered surface scratches commensurate with surface contact.
