Syrian, early 20th century. Fine micro-mosaic games table inlaid in an exotic mix of light and dark wood veneers including mother of pearl with intricate geometric patterns, the fold over, swivel and hinged top opening to reveal a green baize gaming surface above a fold-out backgammon and chess board, with interior storage below and raised on square legs united by a platform inlaid stretcher shelf and terminating on outset shaped square feet. Approximate height closed 33", width 35", depth 17.5".
Tabletop not secured to base. Significant losses to inlay including wood and mother-of-pearl throughout. With small patches of adhesive repair throughout. Green tabletop fabric with staining, tears and discoloration. Shrinkage, warping and separation to backgammon surface. With 31 round backgammon pieces. Drying, cracking and lifting to checkers surface. Losses at hinges of tabletop. Residue on legs, likely from moisture exposure. Stretcher loose and with adhesive repairs.
