Stevens & Williams (English, 1847 - 1930), circa 1900. Very fine Stevens & Williams intaglio cut amethyst glass and sterling mounted decanter, attributed to Joshua Hodgetts (1858 -1933), the decanter with sterling and cut glass stopper stamped 'Sterling' over a sterling raised shaped dual spout, the collar decorated with stylized floral motif and stamped 'B & F' 'Sterling', the long slender neck with two sections of oval vertical cut to clear panels separated by bands of geometric vertical cuts, the flattened globular form body with a flat base decorated in an Art Nouveau style of foliate and floral motif, the bottom with large cut hobstar, apparently unmarked. Approximate height 14.25", width 7", base depth 3".
Overall very good condition. Some scratches and pitting to the silver primarily on knob stopper (see image #7). Small area of roughness around the center of the stopper from contact. There are a couple of elongated included bubbles (under surface). Small minor manufacturing flaw at shoulder approximately .35" inches and appears as a slight crease apparently produced during manufacturing and is not damage nor distracting or obvious.
