A walking stick with John Grinsell & Sons (Birmingham/ England, c.1864-1920) sterling and coin silver collar and handle, a carved wood shaft modeled after bamboo, and brass ferrule and tip. The sterling handle has the appearance of ten stacked "Edward VII King & Emperor" 1 Rupee coins of India, with the top three 'coins' twisting off to reveal a pair of ivory dice hidden in a compartment below. Inside the twisted off cap, the bottom of coin reads "One Rupee India 1907" with a British crown above, and the base of the interior compartment also shows the face of the same coin. Sterling is marked on the base of the handle. Approximately 37.5" tall.
Some tarnishing to base of interior. Wood shaft of cane in very good condition.
