American, Late 19th century. Springfield Model 1884 trapdoor rifle and bayonet with United States Army brass and leather cover to bayonet. Rifle with stained oak stock and marked on top of metal with "US MODEL 1884" and serial number "469212". Approximate length to end of gun 52". Approximate length of bayonet 22".
