Spanish, 17th century. A stained oak vargueno cabinet with bone inlaid diamond pattern drawers, red paint, and diminutive barley twist turned columns, comprising a central drawer with columns and corbels around a central keyhole, flanked on each side by two long drawers with rounded pulls, over four small drawers with a door to the left and right decorated with an arched pediment and large corbels, each side of the case with a large hand wrought iron handles and allover hand wrought iron hardware, all raised on bun feet likely added later. Approximate height 23.25", width 40", depth 13.5".
Vargueno is structurally sound. Brasses patinated with age. Top with surface abrasions, scattered oxidation of wood. Sides with surface abrasions, not distracting. Back missing central plank.
