Continental School, Mid 20th century. "The Sower"-1941, oil on canvas, signed "1941 M. Amala". Figural painting of a male sower in plowed agricultural field with back facing to viewer, sower fling seed and facing toward a farmer sitting on horse drawn plow at left and a resting farmer with brown horse on right. View on green hillsides marked with red roofed barns, cottages and buildings, river on back horizon under blue sky with stylized clouds. Framed approximately 37.75" x 57". Unframed approximately 33.75" x 52.75".
Condition
Painting in excellent condition with little to no signs of in-painting under black light examination. No signs of rips, tears or holes. Painting may brighten with professional cleaning, some dust and grime on back of canvas.
