American (Greenville County, Georgia), circa 1880. A southern pine drop leaf harvest or banquet table with single board top and twin single board rectangular hinged leaves with rounded ends over a straight apron raised on turned, tapering and slightly angled legs. Approximate height 29", width 59.5", depth 18" (leaves closed), depth 47.5" (leaves open). Provenance: Acquired from a Greenville County, Georgia estate by a private collection in Atlanta, Georgia.
Structurally sound. Scattered chips to the top with a couple of burn marks. Horizontal split to apron. Splits with traces of old glue residue to drop leaves. Brass hinges later. Leaves have a very slight warp. Old finish. Wear to finish on legs.
