Chinese, Qing Dynasty Yongzheng Period mark (1723-1735), likely 20th century. A diminutive Meiping or plum vase in white porcelain with hand painted enamel decoration to one side depicting a parrot or lovebird flying downward from a pink flowering branch, the branch suspending a perch with food bowl to right and attached with a gilt chain tethering the bird's ankle as it chases a falling flower. Underside with six character underglaze blue Yongzheng imperial reign mark. Approximate height 6.75", diameter 2.625".
Visible long upside down U shaped fracture on side of vase with repair visible under black light examination--area appears to be stable. Light wear to gilt borders and painted elements. Light wear to bottom commensurate with age and shelf use. No other signs of damage, loss or repair.
