Burton B. Craig (American (Vale, North Carolina), 1914-2002), whimsical pottery face jug with rounded handled on back of vessel behind rounded opening or spout, figure with rounded ears, protruding almond shaped eyes, flattened nose and mouth with exposed lower teeth in white ceramic, overall in dark brown alkaline glaze. Stamped on bottom with "B.B. CRAIG VALE, N.C.". Approximate height 6.2", diameter of bottom 2.75".
Two teeth (far left and far right) with hairline cracks, however appear to be stable within mouth. Small and minor separation seam on back right of handle--however, stable--likely origin from production. Scattered minor glazing imperfections typical of the artist's work. Minor wear to base from light shelf use. No other signs of loss, damage or repair.
